
Lettuce wraps are quick, and simple. Asian inspired flavors wrapped in Boston leaf lettuce
Prep Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins Total Time: 50 mins Servings: 20 – 25 wraps
Filling:
- 1 pound of ground pork (ground turkey is a great alternative as well)
- 1 can of sliced water chestnuts
- 5 Cremini mushrooms
- 1 Small white onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 Tsp Neutral oil
Wraps:

Sauce:
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp Hoisin Sauce
- 1 Tsp Sesame oil
- 1/4 cup Sliced Green Onion
- 2 tsp Sesame seeds
- 2 tsp Sriracha
Instructions:
Sauce:
- Combine all Ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Filling:
- Finely dice Onion, Carrots, Mushrooms, and Water Chestnuts
- Heat large Wok, or non stick pan on medium high heat.
- Add Ground pork to Wok, sear well on one side without disturbing for 3 minutes, then break up the meat and cook until browned.
- Add 1/4 cup of reserved sauce to pork and mix well. Set Aside
- Heat pan until very hot, add 1 tsp of neutral oil to pan.
- Saute onions in pan until soft and translucent (approx. 2 minutes. Stirring constantly. Add remaining vegetables to pan and sautรฉ for 5 minutes or until vegetables soft.
- Add another 1/4 cup of reserved sauce to mixture and add Ground pork back to the pan and cook on medium high heat for 3 minutes stirring constantly.
- Set pan aside
Wraps:
- Remove stem from Boston Leaf lettuce by cutting around the stem at the base of the leaves, or take stem in hand and rip leaves off individually until reaching the centre of the head of lettuce.
- Using a Salad spinner, wash lettuce thoroughly and spin dry. (Alternatively you can use a colander to rinse leaves and dry using paper towel, or kitchen towel.
Serving:
- We like to serve everything in their respective pan/salad spinner on the table.
- Take a leaf of lettuce in hand and spoon approx. 1 tbsp of meat mixture and scoop into lettuce.
- Top with a small scoop (1tsp) of sauce and enjoy!
