We love to have fun kitchen gadgets, and things to make our lives a little easier. These are our top 10 necessary picks for 2023.

1. Universal Knife Holder
Not only is this beautiful, but it is an interesting and non dulling way to store your knives! If you dont have a full set of knives in a block, you know how annoying it is to have knives that don’t fit, or are missing from it. This looks perfect whether you have 2 knives, or 6 in it! It’s also easily washable, and made from high strength resin!
These universal blocks fit perfectly with any decor, and take up less space than a traditional knife block.

2. Potato Ricer
We fell in love with this ricer after going through a huge mashed potato kick. Using a ricer is the secret behind smooth, luxurious mashed potatoes. It can be a big job if you have lots of potatoes, but it’s the MOST worth it.
This is the one we own. Which is well constructed with a handle to rest on your pot and ergonomic grip that is easy on your hands

3. Air Fryer
Our Airfryer is one of the best gifts we have ever received. If you haven’t tried one yet I recommend investing in one of the greatest inventions known to man. Good for college students with limited space, and an amazing alternative to cook healthy versions of your favourite foods.

4. Cast Iron Pan
Having a cast iron pan in your household is a must these days. Not only are these pans good for cooking on stovetop, but they double as ovenware. Allowing you to for example sear a protein and then finish in the oven. You can make fantastic pizzas, and the list is endless. Cast irons are an easy way to increase iron intake(which can be necessary for your child). They are essentially indestructible, and one of the most versatile items in your kitchen. I couldnt speak more highly of a good cast iron.

5. Digital Meat Thermometer
If you don’t have one yet it’s one of my favourite things to have in the kitchen. Never undercook, or overcook your protein again when you can keep a close eye on it! You can also use this as a candy thermometer or to regulate cooking oil temperature.

6. Bench Scraper
My wife got me one of these for my birthday a few years back and it’s a very handy tool. Great for bakers especially! Use it to shift, or move dough around your work surface, and clean your counter of stuck on dough after! Bench scrapers are useful for moving chopped vegetables from cutting board to pan with its large surface.

7. Salad Spinner
Growing up we never had a salad spinner in our house, and used paper towel to dry lettuce off after washing. Salad spinners are a fantastic way to reduce paper waste if you do the same, it works quickly, and is just downright fun to spin! OXO is one of my favourite brands as its priced well, and has quality products.
Another OXO item here, needless to say I love their products!

8. Emulsion Blender
Emulsion blenders are not a necessary item, but we love how versatile ours is. It makes quick work of quick blending tasks, emulsifying sauces, soups, and anything you can think of. This one comes with an additional blending cup made perfectly for the end of the wand for optimal emulsification! We love having the additional cup with it, as we don’t have to dirty another bowl to make a small sauce or for a single serving smoothie!
An emulsion blender like this one from KitchenAid are perfect, and come with an additional cup to do for those small tasks.

9. Butcher block cutting board
Cutting boards come in all shapes and sizes. Often times they are terrible, flimsy, bow after getting wet, and are always too small. This butcher block is a large, thick, edge grain board. Enough size for everything to be chopped, and the end grain on the cutting face makes the board more resistant to cut damage, resistant to bacteria and looks great!
Boos blocks are my favorites. Nothing like showing off that signature brand.

10. OXO Simple press chopper
If you’re like us and each working full time with children, you can understand that time is everything. This chopper is literally everything. What would normally take up to 20 minutes of prep can take a fraction of that time with this chopper. It is a big dice size, so you will have to mince things by hand, but this can handle onions, tomatoes, peppers, and more!
Yet another OXO product that I love (I swear I am not sponsored, simply a huge fan!)
